De stedenbouwkundige is niet langer de enige city maker. Verschillende ontwerpers, academici, beleidsmakers en bewoners geven vorm aan de stad. Het project Participatory City Making verbindt de huidige top-down planning met bottom-up initiatieven. Het faciliteert de ontwikkeling van een gedeelde stedelijke visie en biedt de nieuwe city makers de mogelijkheden om bij te dragen aan de realisatie van visionaire stedelijke concepten. Het project vindt plaats in samenwerking met de Erasmus Universiteit van Rotterdam en de Hogeschool Rotterdam. TSI is hierbij betrokken als lid van het gebruikers comité.
Ingrid Mulder is projectleider, samen met Jotte De Koning en Emma Puerari die een achtergrond hebben in respectievelijk Strategisch Ontwerpen & Ontwerpen voor Duurzaamheid, en Architectuur en stedenbouwkunde. De komende twee jaar zullen zij als Post-Docs aan het project verbonden zijn.
Het Participatory City Making project loopt van oktober 2016 tot september 2018 en heeft financiële ondersteuning vanuit NWO binnen het Research Through Design programma.
The urban planner is no longer the single city ‘maker’. Different designers, academics, policy makers and citizens give shape to the city. The project 'Participatory City Making' connects current top-down plans with bottom-up initiatives, it will facilitate the development of a joint urban vision, and gives the new ‘city makers’ the possibilities to contribute to the realization of visionary urban concepts. The project is in collaboration with the Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Hogeschool Rotterdam. TSI is involved as a member of the user committee.
Ingrid Mulder leads the project, together with her, Jotte de Koning - with a background in Strategic Design and Design for Sustainability & Emma Puerari - with a background in Architecture and Urban Planning. They will be working as Post-Docs on the project for the coming two years.
